18th Zimbabwe International Film Festival Preparations @ Advanced Stage

Preparations for the 18th session of Zimbabwe International Film Festival (ZIFF) organized and co-ordinated by the Zimbabwe International Film and Festival Trust are now at advanced level as their expected to take place from the 1st of October up to 8 October 2016 in Harare.
Festival Director Farai Mjanana said the Zimbabwe International Film and Festival Trust (ZIFFT) are now well prepared for the event despite unfavorable conditions experienced in the country that is affecting the Film industry.
“We are as prepared as we can despite the prevailing circumstances in the country, the economy is bad the film industry is suffocated, but of cause we are resilient so as to cater for our audience. Preparations are going well”, he said.
The ZIFF 2016 will run under the theme “Reel, Sound and Music “which seeks to highlight the importance or the special role of the sound and music in producing high quality films.
ZIFFT is inviting films global a submission that speaks to the theme “Reel, sound and music” and call for submissions is due the beginning of September 2016.
Broad range of film will be showcased and ZIFF 2016 encourages the strong participation of quality local entries that compares favorably to the international films.
Awards will be given to the winning ‘In Competition’ films according to the following Best Feature, Best Screen Play, Best Director, Best Actor in a leading role, Best Actress, Special Jury Prize, Best documentary, Best short categories.
