Litso to wow SADC Summit Fashion Show
Top Zimbabwean fashion designer Annie Maliki is set to showcase her clothing brand ‘Litso’ at the Swaziland SADC Summit Fashion Show. The prestigious event will commence today and conclude on Saturday, August 27 in Swaziland.
The Bulawayo based designer who impressed renowned Philippine Fashion Designer John Ablaza during his visit in Zimbabwe earlier this month will showcase an edgy summer collection.
“I will be showcasing at the Swaziland SADC Summit Fashion Show on the 26th and 27th of August. My collection is a summer club wear collection”, she said.
Annie says the inspiration for her collection is drawn from the brand persona or character that is a musician and a performer at heart.
The fashion festival pegged during the SADC Summit weekend is an initiative by the Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture (SNCAC). The idea is to host a fashion show that will incorporate the visiting countries that will be represented during the SADC Summit.
The show which will host fashion designers and models from Botswana, Malawi, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe promises to be a top of the class event. The organisers said the Swaziland fashion industry seeks to grab this opportunity to collaborate their work and labels with other fashion icons across the SADC region.
This will be a good forum for Annie Maliki’s clothing brand ‘Litso’ to impress since most delegates attending the SADC summit will be in attendance.
Annie under her clothing brand was amongst the Top 10 Young Designers at the Zimbabwe Fashion Week in August 2013. To date Litso has featured at the Zambia Fashion Week and several Zimbabwe fashion shows such as the Matabeleland Fashion Week and the Intwasa Fashion Show.
The fashion designer is expected to showcase a top notch collection since this is not her first time showcasing at International fashion platforms.
